Students’ readiness to transition from higher education to the professional world has become increasingly important amid changes and growing competition in the labor market. Such readiness is shaped not only by students’ competencies but also by their ability to plan their careers and the support provided by their family environment. This study aims to examine the effects of career planning and family environment on students’ work readiness. A quantitative approach was employed, involving 71 students selected through purposive sampling. Primary data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression with IBM SPSS version 26. The findings indicate that career planning and family environment have positive effects on students’ work readiness, both individually and jointly. The novelty of this study lies in integrating a personal factor, namely career planning, and an environmental factor, namely family support, to explain students’ readiness to transition into the professional world. The findings provide a theoretical contribution by broadening the understanding of work readiness as a condition shaped by both individual preparedness and environmental support, as well as a practical contribution for higher education institutions and families in strengthening students’ career planning and support before entering the workforce.
